And feel free to accept my personal “no problem” and my personal “all the best of luck with the event being a go this Summer.” And my personal “be safe”.

Word I am hearing from a Canadian government source who I trust is that the land border between Canada and the USA will not reopen until at least Canadian Thanksgiving which is the middle of October. If this holds then many Canadians will not be heading to Oshkosh this year, me included.

President Biden has said it will be months before Covid is under control.

Canadians, for the time being can still fly into the USA but now have to have a negative Covid test less than 72 hours old to get into the USA and will then have to source a test in the U.S. in order to fly back into Canada, again no more than 72 hours. Prime Minister Trudeau is under increasing pressure to close Canadian airports to international passenger travel due to the mutated strains of Covid that have originated in other countries and have made their way into Canada.

Not sure what international travel deal is for others from around the world to get back home but all entering the USA ( as of now ) have to have the negative test.

Shaping up to pretty much be a gathering of Americans with very few exceptions.

Sadly I believe you are right. Oshkosh and any other air show that cannot do the " drive-in" style show that was very successful in London Ontario last year.

Seems like the thread could use a little update.

Class of '45 (Yoak & Tobul) now scheduled with P-51D & F4U-4

Thom Richard has indicated his intention to bring the TP-40N.

Yankee Air Museum is continuing their 1- and 2-day trips to KOSH with C-47 "Hairless Joe"

The CAF-Tora Tora group has announced on facebook, but no one can tell if it's the aircraft or just the pyro team.

The Erickson P-40E is scheduled to appear at Wings of the North Air Expo July 24-25. Wonder if they'll continue on to Oshkosh?

I will be up in Michigan about the time of Oshkosh. I was kinda planning on skipping Oshkosh this year unless I hear some very impressive line ups or events happening. I think I am saving for 2022, thinking that they might have something planned for the 75th Anniversary of the US Air Force. Following this thread though in case something really impresses me that shows up so I can just drive on over from Michigan if need be.

Sounds like as of now they are planning for it to happen. I realize I am probably in the minority here but I wonder if it is too soon. All these awesome planes that have committed to come are not coming "for free" - hopefully the money side of it all works out.

Yesterday I did hear that 21% of Americans are vaccinated so that is encouraging but COVID numbers are still out of control in Michigan and Florida. Oshkosh is awesome but part of me wonders if they are trying too hard to pull it off too soon.

Wisconsin has been more "open" than most states I think. Oshkosh was cancelled last year but I went to a race at Road America the week before.
