I know Jim Smith's collection is in the area. Are there any other "must see" or out of the way warbird locations in the Montana area? I'll be staying in illings for the next two or three weeks or so and plan on taking in as many warbird sites as possible. Thanks!

Greybull, WY is just a scenic drive away down Hwy 310.

There is a T-6 and an F4u-5 at glacier park international in Kalispell owned by semi tool. If you are that far north you may as well come up to fortine to see our collection.

Rob,
If you can get up to Missoula, check out the PV-2's. I last visted this FBO
back in 1985. They're fire fighters with barracks for the smoke jumpers and all. I took my niece on a tour, as a result she went to school and subseqently met her future husband on a fire line. Montana is a great State. Wish I was up for a visit, it's a long ways from Shreveport.

Don't forget the Lynch Airtanker A-26's and A-26K in Billings. Parked right off the runway if it is still like the old days 8)

After sitting by the runway for many years, the two A-26s are now parked on a ramp on the north side of the field (in August 2005)

Ah, Thanks Mike! I wondered when I checked on Jim's Corsair and also Ray Thompsons - I thought they seemed close to each other. I'm crossing my fingers that Mr. Smith won't be as busy as the airport manager thought he would be - it would be nice to get a Corsair to Wendover.
