So are there any good ones left? Ones that have old airplane parts and not the small general aviation stuff or jet liners?
Aircraft "salvage yards" specifically...or derelict, forgotten air frames left out in hard to access places? I think they are two separate questions. Operators up north still have there own private "salvage yards" to keep the fleet of still working round motors going. Many of these are in and around the Fairbanks airport as well as Yellowknife.
There are also numerous forgotten derelict air frames lying around the lower 48. Abandoned and Forgotten Airfields websites will provide great detail where these are at. Also, some of the more funding-challenged museums and air parks possess vast array of different types and are usually pretty liberal about letting people walk around the yard and in and out of the planes.
