Was devoted to Aviation in Arizona, with a article about Kingman.
The A-26 on the cover survived the military, but not the drug runners
35495 (MSN 28774) converted to On Mark Marketeer N2076A. Later N501N, N507WB. Thought to have been lost during
smuggling operations

The bottom picture isn't in Arizona...or the U.S. for that matter.

Note the Wellington, Lancasters, RAF Coastal Command Liberators, and the silver non-supercharged Liberator in front. Not to mention the UK car.

I think the last shot is Prestwick in Scotland. It was used as a staging post on the transatlantic ferry run. The Lancasters could be Canadian Built Mk X examples. I remember talking with a Lancaster ferry pilot who told me that the Lancs were flown across the Atlantic with fairings over the nose and tail turret positions, with the missing turrets being fitted when the airframes arrived in the U.K.

Nice pics.

I have an older cousin who grew up in Kingman. He said the guards would look the other way as the local kids would climb the fence to go play in the planes. What a playground for an airplane loving kid!

The photo of the B-26's on Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany is Awesome!
There's a hangar there (former Dornier) with "Flak-Bait" inside set aside for disassembly and shipment back to the states due to her record.
Any chance Mark the hangars got caught in another photo? The pictures of FB while there show the doors open and it just might possible to see her.

Did they leave all the Mediums overseas, and only fly the Heavies home?
