What's the beef with the paint scheme?
Too glossy?

If so, I'd suggest those who don't like it consider the relative longevity of gloss paint and the cost of frequent repainting.I

It's the price of doing business (i.e. flying in the 21st century) along with modern avionics.

Ah, at last an image with the LA-T Len Tanner codes.

Would there be anybody out there with a full frame shot showing these codes?

(Edit: Sorry for the Len Tanner Mustang post - I pulled the trigger too soon. I might have a photo of the Spitfire with the codes on my old slide files. I know I do without the codes. I will check when I can access them and post it if I do.)

A lot of discussion around the sale of these two airframes is that they haven't done much flying in the 21st century - has TZ138 flown this century? - so that's a slightly smile-inducing comment.

My point was that those critical of the goods finish don't have to concern themselves with the upkeep or expense of repainting.
It's easy to be critical from the"peanut galkery" if you are the one not writing the checks.

As far as airframes not being flown, like most things, that's the owner's prerogative. Think of them as attrition reserves.

That's right. So far just rumours of rumours. No actual evidence that either is for sale.
