Here's a rare and unique set of photos showing some nice detail as to how the Focke-Wulf Fw 190's went together. Not sure the exact location or date, but I purchased the whole set so I'll post additional photos soon.

Makes you wonder how much recycled B-17 and B-24 aluminum was in those airplanes.

Very little if any. Those 190's were most likely being built in early 1942.

It's already up on most other aircraft forums, that's where I saw it too.

In the second photo there looks like another production line devoted to the Focke Wulf 189.

Any ideas anyone? What do you think?

Wow! Very interesting. Couple of questions for the experts... in the second to last pic they have the swastika and balkenkreuz painted on what just looks like a primed airplane, did they just mask off those when they applied the camo? Second is anybody know what the tube is that goes in front of the gear leg and snakes back into the wing? I like how unsophisticated the factory is... all the little wood tables with a beefy looking vice on the corner, only hoist in sight is to hang the engine, and I assume the prop also. Stuff sittin on saw horse's. Also notice the irregularity of the placement of the balkenkreuz on th right wing of the last photo?
I can't wait to see more, thanks Mark. pop2

Just a guess since I wasn't there...
But the insignia may have been put on primered aircraft because they were being photographed for propaganda purposes.

I am confused by the almost total lack of production workers. Can't believe they were on lunch break or the plant was shut down for the weekend. Would this time span have already been when prisoners were used for production and the person taking the photos did not want them in the photos? Thank you for sharing these once again Mark.
