This movie is a 'passion' project for Peter Jackson...given the current trend in cinema, we may be waiting a while for a similar quality WWII movie. So many have fallen short in recent years, and given the PC climate of the world in general, the Dam Busters maybe our last bastion of hope.

Many others never came to pass. Several got into development and never came out the other side. I wasted almost 3 years of my life (just a few hours a month, if added up, though) on consultant work for a non-aviation ETO movie that never came to pass...
