Cockpit restoration

I can remember a couple at Oshkosh. an f-4 and an OV-1 Mohawk, the f-4 was from the Minnesota Air Guard.
Not sure where the Mohawk was from. For 5 bucks you could wear a helmet and get your picture taken.

I will upload several cockpit photos. One of them, the one at the Kansas National Guard Museum (IIRC) is included, although it is in fact, a flight simulator. I have seen the same model at two other museums, again IIRC.

I believe that the AH-1 Cobra and the F-14 cockpits, were egress simulators at some point in their lives.

The Convair cockpit was for sale. Located at a warehouse between Appleton and Oshkosh, where they sell all kinds of interesting stuff.

Brother Dan, that's the place. I have several photos of the place, one of them of the baseball player fishing from the "African Queen" :lol:

During the winter of 2009 (that long ago??) I almost bought an F-16 model that they had for sale there. It was easily 8-10 ft. long, but there was no way to make it fit inside my Durango, and carrying it on top, would have been nightmarish. Shipping it, was really expensive.

Anyway, I hope it found a good home.

Dewey Larson and his Dream Big Entertainment F-101 and A-7 cockpits can be seen at airshows around the country.

There is a Mohawk cockpit on a trailer at American Wings Air Museum at the Anoka Blaine, MN airport. probably the one you saw.
