Looks like they might have been down there in conjunction with what used to be the Nimitz Museum.

Close Air Support Provided by: "Pecos Bill" Freedom Flyers

On certain weekends you might be lucky enough to see this P-51 buzzing over the battlefield.

Pecos Bill takes veterans of all American wars flying, free of charge, to thank them for their service to our country. Pecos Bill also provides fly-over tributes at Veterans' funerals & events.

Do the restored Mustangs that are flying have bladder type fuel cells or just metal tanks?

The fuel tanks on Mustangs flying today are the same as those used originally and are rubber bladders - as was commented on by Rich Palmer on Facebook, Mustangs don't typically catch fire in most impacts like these.

Thoughts and prayers to the families and friends of both individuals lost.

Here is another news story with supposed video of the plane shortly before the crash doing "aerial stunts" and another eyewitness account of the crash. Very sad.

Tough year for those at Burnet. "Bluebonnet Belle" and now "Pecos Bill". My thoughts are for everyone there.

Rest in peace to Cowden Ward and his 95 year old W.W. II Veteran passenger. Cowden was a very gracious, humble man who's sole purpose with his Mustang was to pay tribute to Veterans by giving them a free ride in his aircraft. This is very sad and the warbird community is greatly diminished with his passing. Cowden was one of the really good ones.

So the news is out on the passenger Vincent Losado, B-17 crewmember - https://apnews.com/2a3dbc5a533946c0add0eb70ad492953 I'm nearly certain that I, or someone else in my family talked with him maybe a decade ago. I knew the name when I heard it. :x

Here's an website with a bit of his info from a few years back: http://www.operationmeatball.com/new-gi ... -heart-day

I may be reading that wrong, but he appears to be saying the aircraft was in a 90deg bank, while flying straight.
