Nice spot.

Shall we assume Larry Kelley´s presence means B-25 Panchito will attend as well?

These two lines from the above link:

"A salute to World War II ace Bud Anderson, with every flying P-51 in the U.S. invited to Oshkosh to participate;
A gathering of U.S. Navy fighter aircraft, including F4U Corsairs, the gullwing fighters that were a key asset in the Pacific Theater;"

OH BOY IS THIS GREAT!!!! :supz: :drink3:

Thunder actually pays for their warbirds to show up though, will be interesting to see the overlap between the 2 shows. Thunder should still be having the larger gathering either way. I remember how the 2002 Corsair Gathering in Indy was a mass invite to everyone with no expenses paid for, that didn't turn out too well.

Would be great to get some more Mustangs at Thunder also, although again, I don't think the Thunder team will go out of their way to pay Mustangs to come from OSH. (I'm not sure if they would even allow anyone volunteering to come for "free" show up). Gonna be a ton of warbirds up that way come late July and August!!! 8)

I'm going to put my guesses at 30-35 P-51s and 6-8 Corsairs.

Mustangs is probably about right, Corsairs I would say 6 max (judging by Thunder's yes/no list)

Thirty P-51’s, two P-63 Kingcobras, four Corsairs, two Mosquitos, two F-82’s, three P-40’s, two Corsairs, no P-39s, Spitfires, Hellcats. One p-38, one wildcat, 3 Yak-3s, no Tigercats, maybe one P-47.

That's an interesting guess, 2 F-82's. At first, I thought maybe you were kidding, but the rest of your numbers are probably really close. I've heard several comments on how close the other F-82 is to completion, from one solid week's worth of work, to a couple of years still. There hasn't been any mention that I've seen of progress on this bird, so it's hard to say. I keep hoping for an unannounced flyby one day at a local show!!

I'd be happy with one Hurricane.

So which would be the other Mosquito? The Weeks example already there?

Jerry Yagen has had a record for bringing some of his newly finished restorations to Oshkosh for display/judging (P-40, Dragon Rapide, Mosquito), so it might be a possibility that his newly completed P-39 will be at Oshkosh this summer. In a similar manner, I'd expect there to be a good likelihood in seeing Rod Lewis' Mosquito at Oshkosh this summer, as well as the Collings Foundation's Hellcat. With regard to seeing a Hurricane at Oshkosh, perhaps the former LSFM Hurricane, owned by Bruce Eames/Dakota Territory Air Museum, which is expected to be completed this year, might be completed in time? I've heard the Vintage Wings of Canada Hurricane restoration is nearing completion as well (at present, there are only two Hurricanes flying in all of North America - the Jerry Yagen example and the one owned by the Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum). In the past decade or so, about 25 Mustangs is average for the week of Oshkosh.
