Good evening all,
I am a frequent lurker but don’t post very often. I am hoping the aviation knowledge here can help me out. I had a gentleman bring this large 3 blade prop spinner into my shop today. It is roughly 22” across and measured 29” from the back to the tip if following the curvature of the spinner. The only marking anywhere on it is a 242 stamped into the metal on the inside, where the backplate would go. I have no idea what it’s off of and would like to try and find out. Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks in advance,

Tom

The pointed spinner looks like it's from a turboprop rather than a piston.
Likewise the short, broad chord props.

The spinners look more like those fitted to Lockheed Starliners than DC-6s.
But from that view, they look more pointed or thinner than the Lockheed's.
