The existence of the 0.50s in ZK-CAG are an historical anomaly - you are not allowed to import automatic-fire weapons, but you don't have to surrender them if you already have them (providing you have the appropriate licences eg theatrical armourer). The chances of getting permission to import an operable automatic cannon are ... slim.

Sorry - just me being facetious Errol.

Although on the other hand there's a few Hispano 20mm's in private hands. And when I was collecting I had an Oerlikon for a while. To be honest I've never heard of, or come across a 37mm in NZ.

The Mig15's and -17's I brought into Australia from Poland still had their 37mm and 23mm cannons. All they needed was ammo...
