From what I understand, the 213 was for Jerry Yagen to put into the Flugwerk Fw-190D-9 that was previously owned by Tom Blair. However it isn't a very high priority project and the aircraft is still sitting in Virginia Beach when it was supposed to be shipped out to begin the refit for the Jumo.

I've seen very little on his A-3 #5467, and his genuine D-9 #211028 would need to be a complete rebuild.

On the same line....Jerry Yagen also had a 109 E under rebuild.

It was on their old WEB site and was showing an advanced state of construction at least for the fuselage.

They also had an old Tupolev bomber showed as a project.

Any news on this airframe?

Yagen's Emil is a particularly special one; turns out WNr 2023 was flown by Wolfgang Lippert, Gruppenkommandeur of II./JG 27. Last I heard, it was slowly being worked on somewhere in eastern Europe; there had been a hold-up for a while as they were trying to source wing construction drawings, and apparently could not get them from Charleston Aero Services. It's been a couple years since I heard any updates on this one, though.

I, too, would love to see an update on the Fw 189 and Ju 87...

Weeks was touring Mike's shop for a very long time, but Mike was stuck in traffic before Kermit could talk with him and get a tour of his "special" shop with unique projects. The 211 work would have been interesting to hear about, although I wonder if some of those are static rebuilds for museums or private collectors. I would have liked to get Nixon's take on the German engines.

The only 211s that I know about are one that is intended for the Stuka and two that were already finished by Dirke Bende in Germany. I had assumed the two in Bende's shop were for an He-111 project, perhaps the one that is now in Austria.

Not the only ones! Paul Allen has a Junkers Ju-88 that is under restoration as well. The Ju-88 used the Jumo 211.

I think I can safely speak for the whole of WIX when I say that we wanna see that too!!

I'd certainly love to hear what Mike Nixon would have had to say.
I suspect it might be something along the lines of "Shhh.... shut it!!" :lol:

No, that was Mark Timken, previous owner of White 1

Both the Fw-190 for Norway and White 1 were initially done at the Texas Air Museum but the quality of work was unsatisfactory. Mark Timkin completed the example for Norway in exchange for assistance with White 1. After White 1 was sold to the Collings Foundation the work continues at Gosshawk.

I'm pretty sure Paul Allen also bought the Messerschmitt 110's that got recovered by Jim Pearce.

Has anyone heard any more about those? I think there were two substantial airframes.

They are owned by the German Technical Museum, Berlin. One (the 110F) has been restored and on display for several years. The 110E was used as a parts source and last I heard was in store with them.
Both were initially sold to Sir Tim Wallis here in NZ, but were sadly offloaded following his accident.

Pearce recovered three Bf-110s. The best example went to the Technical Museum, Berlin with a second as a parts source. I believe the third is privately owned with enough material for a flier some day, but not owned by Allen.
