Dating a P&W engine badge

Just bought a 2 inch P&W engine badge from France.

Trying to get a date on it as there are many variations.

Main variations are:
Above eagle- Pratt and Whitney USA vs Pratt and Whitney Aircraft

Below eagle Reg US Pat Off. vs R vs TM Regd ?

Plus Buick, Ford and Canada variations..

Suggestion I read was that Reg US Pat Off dates it to post 39 and change to Aircraft from USA dates it post 45 ?

Just had to buy a P&W casing to mount it in.

Is there a named colour for the grey/blue paint on the bell housing ?
