Looking for Harvard MK II Cockpit Pictures

Thu Jul 19, 2018 1:53 pm

Hello looking for front and rear cockpit (side views and front) for specifically the Harvard Mark II, these early North American built products were unique from the later AT-6’s and had different instrument panels, radios ect.

Appreciate any help that can be provided

Are you looking for the wartime configuration or postwar? Wartime Harvards normally had no radios fitted, so it was much less cluttered on the right side of the cockpit :)

Shoot me a PM or email me at maintenance -at- harvards -dot- com

Are you looking for original WWII photos or current photos?

I have a NAA built Harvard II and could take some photos of the cockpits. My airplane was operated by the RCAF until 1960, so it went through a few depot periods. Like RCAF said, the radio shelf would have been lighter, but I believe the instrument panels themselves are fairly similar to other Harvards. Biggest difference between the Harvard panel and US T6/SNJ is the panel overlay. Harvards had heated instrument panels (hot air from the extended exhaust blowing on the back side of the panel to keep things warm in the frigid north).

Mark Allen M had posted a bunch of old photos of early Harvard IIs here, but for some reason the photos are all deleted. You might reach out to him here and see if he has something that would help.
