Now since there was no fire from when it went in, we can guess that the TBM ran out of fuel which means that it most likely flew father from where he thinks the plane has crashed. Furthermore, the plane most likely was destroyed in the crash. I've seen what Pines can do to a TBM and it's very devastating. when we recovered the TBM for QAM out of the deep woods in Northern Maine there wasn't a part on the airframe that wasn't bent or destroyed the wings were basically ripped off and the tail section was snapped almost completely off.
He would be better off looking to purchase another TBM than spend all that money searching for this aircraft.
No chance that thing was trimmed perfectly enough to run out of fuel - that would be a complete miracle. Didn't he say it was trimmed in a nose-up attitude and slight turn for bail-out? If the engine was having that many problems, it'd run out of oil and seize before it ran out of fuel.
The only logical conclusion I could make for no post-crash fire is that it landed shallow and (with tanks being VERY inboard in the protected portion of the wings and center tank, as well as most likely retaining their self-sealing bladders which is common for TBMs) there just simply wasn't enough fuel near an ignition source to actually ignite it.
