I was flying Butler Aircraft’s DC-7 Tanker 62 while the National Geographic crew shot the footage for this TV special. I managed to hide from the interviewers and cameras, although I do show up in the background now and then and T62 also is in there. I always wanted to get access to the raw footage from this because they used a Cessna Caravan as a camera ship and they overflew me on a landing at Fox Field. It should have been good stuff because they were only a couple of hundred feet above me from turning final to after touchdown.

I haven’t followed the link, yet, but I have a copy of this program on VHS tape somewhere. It’s really worth watching and the Fire Aviation website is safe.
