Warbird Information Exchange

I was looking at the "Corsair mid-air collision" thread and reminded of a photo I saw (Airpower magazine?) as a kid, and hope someone here can post that photo for some discussion.

The P-38 ran into the back of a British bomber, but stood on its landing gear. The right wing (assuming the photo was not reversed, which happened too often in those older magazines) was bent quite severely backwards and the engine was knocked out, with propeller gone if I remember right. Oh, and the bomber's vertical tail was attached to the swept wing.

This is the greatest WWII aircraft photo of my memory ... can someone flash that up here so I can relive those old times?

That may be the one, though I remember the tail section being on the swept side (memory could easily be wrong).

Any other pictures of this or similar events?

Most likely this was a ground rather than mid-air accident, with the F-5B (not a P-38) s/n 42-67318 stationary at the time. There are also arguments that the photo may be doctored.
