Going rate for Hamilton Standard 2D30 Props w/ 6101A blades

Mon Feb 19, 2018 2:45 pm

I'm curious what's the going rate for the following props:

- Hamilton Standard 2D30 with 6101A-18 (102") with uncut paddle blades. Blades are most likely class A blades.

-Hamilton Standard 2D30 with 6101A-17 (103") with telescoping blades. Blades are also most likely class A blades.

I don't have logs for either but they are any a prop shop currently being inspected.

Any idea what they should sell for inspected but overhauled?

Ant idea what they would have come off of ?

Thanks for the input.

Could have been off of a BT13/15

I actually multiple 2D30's with 6101A-18 blades, they are in excellent shape and have been in dry storage since the 50's.

I have a matching set of 2D30 6101A-18 paddle blade propellers from Corpus Chrisiti NAS and it looks like they come off a Grumman G-21 Goose.

Any Goose owners need a set of props ?

Overhauled, 108" (-12's), A grade (so the absolute top dollar) seems to be in the high teen's right now. I've seen them advertised recently for $18k-$20k.

We recently (a little under two years ago) bought a prop quite similar to your description (-18, A grade blades, packaged and likely NOS) for I think $6500 or $7500, then it took us $4k to get it overhauled.

I'd say going rate for those props overhaul'd would be in $11k->$14k, depending on where you advertise them and how quickly you want to sell.

We'd like a spare set of props for ours - but there aren't any Gooses left in the world running 2D30's. 2D30's were original equipment, but everyone is running 3 bladed Hartzells except us and we are running 22D30's. Running a Goose with non-feathering props is a bit of a gamble in my opinion.

Might be suitable to cut down for a Beech Staggerwing- Blades 6101A-21T, -22T:

And various lengths from -12 to -26 used on the BT-13 as noted in that TCDS:
