I'd take that over the photo passes. Thanks!

Couldn’t he scrape some of the oil off the side and put it back in?

He's refilling the fuselage lubrication dispenser.

He got a brand new hat at the Pratt booth.

OK - got a few minutes so I'll start posting my collection of average photos. My stuff is more like a documentary of what flew; not the higher quality images from the pros. We had 3 WWII glider trainers this year; A Laister-Kauffman TG-4, a Taylorcraft TG-6, and a Piper TG-8. The flew the -6 and -8 (I believe) on Friday and Saturday:

This is the Taylorcraft:

And the Piper:

They were cool to see and the pilots made great landings in front of 100K+ spectators in what felt to me like a 90-degree crosswind. Took some time though - I'd like to have the money they spent on Avgas to keep 3 Spads, 4 Mustangs, a Bearcat and 2 Tigercats orbiting in the southeast hold during the glider part

They celebrated the 80th anniversary of the first flight of the T-6 - we registered 91 total.

Image

At one point, we had the Geico Sky Typers:

Aeroshell:

and The Canadian Harvards:

Image

Back-to-back-to-back! The next act (and now for something completely different...), Trojan Thunder!

My last trainer photo is the Chippie that took part in the RAF commemorative flight with the Y2-K Spitfire and the Jet Provost:

She looked great while she was there! This is the only shot I got:

Thanks for your explanation - I take back my earlier whine about not getting a parade pass.

Doc and Yankee Lady did eventually get to pass in front of the crowd on Friday/Saturday:

For the Friday show they flew a loose formation of 5 Dakotas over the crowd, with a UC-78 in trail:

Image

Pretty tight actually, considering they were in a constant left hand oval. They flew 4 on Saturday - did manage to get those takeoffs.

That's All --- Brother looks great in her new livery. Like the hand painted invasion stripes:

Another was Placid Lassie:

and Tico Belle:

and the USAF scheme:

All for now.

JohnTerrell wrote:For those that may overlooked my post earlier, the Vintage Aviator collection in New Zealand has a very WWI-era accurate DH-4 that has been flying since 2016, which also runs a Liberty V-12 engine. Both the Vintage Aviator and the Friends of Jenny DH-4's are painted in the same 50th Observation Aero Squadron markings, but with different individual aircraft numbers. As I posted before, here is a link to a number of detail photos of the Vintage Aviator's DH-4 in New Zealand, including a few shots of it flying: https://forum.ww1aircraftmodels.com/ind ... pic=7238.0

I have some additional DH-4 angles (including with Hucks starter attached), as well as similar ones (often I was standing very close to James at various TVAL events)

Kinda heavy on Tigercats - I know. No apology - I like the look and sound! Last one is pretty unsatisfying - how often do you see two F7-F's on final, though?

Image

You still working on yours, Will? BTW, I can't make Reno this year, so can you post some average quality shots to cover me?

All great stuff for sure but I REALLY like that F-5. And I'm not a jet guy! Wonderful photos gents, thank you for sharing.
