For those who haven't seen these photos. For those who have hopefully these will provide a bit better detail.
The photos are various USAAF aircraft predominately located at Lingayen Airfield Philippines c 1945

Second it on best photo post of 2017. Stunning images and what a great photo essay on ground and air operations in the squadron. Thanks very much for posting.

Mark, thanks for taking the time to post these. There are modelers out there drooling over the real maintenance pictures. They are priceless. The other thing that occurs to me, is what a pain in the @ss working on a Black Widow must have been. I'm sure many a burned body part was scorched on that black paint. Thanks again for posting up such gems of history.

Almost my exact words to my brother last year. After my Dad passed, bro was going through some of his slides from the 50's and early 60's and tossing the clinkers. Out of curiosity I went through the tossers, one of them was a NMF Caribou surrounded by yellow maintenance scaffolds with AF aircraft in the background he found uninteresting. WTF? Even ruined images get the once and twice over before tossed..

Another superb posting, thanks Mark!

Thanks folks, although as usual, I can't take any credit. I'm just the messenger lol. I didn't think posting these would be that big a deal. When I have more time today I'll post a bunch more from the collection. One good thing about posting from flickr is the scale.
