In July, the site The Warzone at the The Drive did a story on the A-10 which featured the photo of the inverted dirty A-10.

Thanks for the article link, I also enjoyed reading the one about the female Warthog driver Lt. "Banzai" Bowers as well as her mention of the other fem A-10 driver, "Sparkles"! The lady talks with the preciseness of a surgeon.

Plus the update articles on the AF's continued campaign to off the 'Hog...give 'em the perfect tool and they just can't be happy...groan...

Generals tend overwhelmingly to be politicians. They're not the ones out there with their butts on the line. There's a lot more money to be made promoting the F-35 than the A-10, and more promotions too.

How many A10s could we have for an F-35.

America has been in a number of shooting situations in the last 60 years. The Warthog has made sense or would have made sense in all of them -- when it comes to saving lives on the ground having somebody in the air who can see the enemy just works better.

Of course I'm a former E-5. I think that Sergeants are a lot more useful in battle than Generals, LOL.

I miss seeing them fly over my house all the time. Those are some great shots.

I still remember seeing my first A-10 demo in 1987 at Griffiss AFB.. I fell in love with the aircraft that day. I never saw a demo like that again.

I saw an article that showed hourly operational costs of the Air Force inventory and the only thing cheaper to fly than the A-10 was the MQ-1 Predator... a bloody drone. :roll:

What could a A-10 or a MQ-1 Predator possibly do against that...

But then again; maybe I'm biased, I do work for Pratt...

I think the F-22 is to combat the ISIS Air Force, Phil.

That 3 Billion dollar destroyer the Navy just dedicated a while back is for the mighty ISIS Navy.

Nobody's around any more to remember that for all the glossy fast movers we had in 1965, to fight that war back then they had to dig up the Skyraiders, Invaders, Bird Dogs, and even T-28s to get a lot of the dirty jobs done.

Institutional memories can be pretty short.

You don't get that next star by championing something like the Warthog...
