With all due respect to the others, I love the DC-3.
No doubt from reading Fate is the Hunter too many times.
Now f I could jet get a ride on it over AM-21!

I agree. That DC-3 is a beautiful example. Back in the 1950s and early 60s the little town where I grew up was served by North Central Airlines, which flew only DC-3s. The DC-3 was air travel for me. I could see the airport beacon from my bedroom, and the prevailing winds meant that the big airliners came over the house on final approach. I loved airplanes, but did not get close to anything bigger than the DC-3 til well into my teens.

Was that event at Bowman Field? I haven't been there since the early 1960s. We used to live in Beuchel, near Louisville.

Yes, Bowman Field. They also had vintage motorcycles, cars, military vehicles and the Coast Guard had one of the brand new 29 foot boats there..
