I was just looking up ticket prices. Looks like they have several teirs of Pay-Per-View seating again this year. I guess that means those of us in the General Admittion "cheap" seats will be shoved way off to the far ends of the show line again.

Viewing area has changed for this year. It will run parallel to runway not ramp and tents will be oriented with ends to the show not the long way. There will be a huge increase in viewing area. There will also be tents set up for the folks to eat in.

Yes, the crowd viewing area has changed for the better. The old tent line has swung 90 degrees to the west from its previous location. The new tent line will now face north and will parrallel the flight line which will be Runway 09/27. This opens up a vast amount of green space for the public. The static aircraft area and the "Hot Ramp" remain the same. The crowd will no longer be staring into the sun. The Photo Pit will be at the intersection of Golf Taxiway and the "Hot Ramp". And, we are SOLD OUT for this area for all three days.

Cheers,

Tom Walsh.

Correction - The old tent line is swinging 45 degrees to the west from its previous location. The new tent line will face northwest paralleling Runway 23 Left 5 Right. Just over 20 acres of additional green space will be opened to the public. Sorry for any confusion. Much improved over the previous set-up.

Cheers,

Tom Walsh.

That's great news..thanks for the info! The change of angle might also be better for photography. Usually by the middle of the the show the aircraft are silhouetted against the sun.

So to clarify, we will be sitting/standing on runway 23 L? How will this all effect the ground portion of the battles? That is going to be a LONG walk to get out to the flight line if that's the case.

Just a note to those with the organizer's ears. I have purchased tickets in the past pre-sale and had the shows dates change (due to jet teams). Also, learned what is hoped for several months earlier (specific plane) may not show up due to various reasons (not always an air show's organizer control). I have attended several TOMs during the past 10 years.

Since I am a 3 hr drive the weather is also a consideration. For these reasons I purchase general admission tix usually end of the calendar year at discounted price so if the dates change, planes change, and weather is questionable, I am not as disappointed if I can not attend and lose $, which has happened. However, this year I refused to buy tix when even general admission tickets you had to select which of the 2 days you would attend: Sat or Sun. I know others in Ohio who have backed out because of this also. I can not spend $60 now for a ticket for one person (pre-sale online has added handling fees so basically same as gate: $40 GA/ $20 parking). Please bring back during the early pre-sale options (Nov. sales) the GA ticket good for either Sat or Sunday, which I choose.

Hoping for a successful show and pleasant weather for all those involved and attending!

I was there yesterday dropping off the Invader and saw the setup. You are not going to be sitting on 23L. The show line has just been re orientated parallel along the runway, versus at an angle to it. They couldn't have a show if they put it on the runway...

Tim,

Since you have seen it recently, another quick question as curius minds want to know..

is the crowd line closer to the ramp or closer to the runway? I am trying to figure out how the fit the tents around the field (canola??) that is usually in front of the crowd. Part of me wants to be closer to the runway, but the other part doesn't want to walk that far!

When I received the early pre-sale e-mail offer in November, clicked link to purchase general admission tickets, I had to select Saturday or Sunday for the general admission tickets, just as you would a chalet ticket.
