Just get back to posting pictures, that's the important thing.

Just kidding of course! Cheers from my happy home in Harvey-ville, and keeping my fingers crossed that you dodge the worst of it there as I did here!!

My breath was literally taken reading your evacuation story Will, and then the news that the house seems to have escaped. Wonderful news!

Now that the fires in my area are no longer in my area, I can get back to processing and posting some pics... How about a Shanty Irish photo dump?

I'm working on getting out of the static shots and back into the racing shots.

Absolutely beautiful shots.
Glad to hear you survived more or less intact.

My number of complaints regarding your photo posts remains Zero! :D
Awesome stuff. Thanks.

Glad you’re back, Will. Bet the neighborhood looks a bit different.

I forget - do you get a press pass? Hard to believe you get those angles by leaning over the concrete.

Keep up the good work!

Yeah, the neighborhood does look a little different, but only if you look east, or down the driveway (the house across the street is totally gone.)

Yes, this was my second year with press credentials. The sunset shots are taken out on the ramp, and after hours, the airport is a regular airport so anyone can go out on the ramp. Some of the other shots were taken from the end of the hangars on the west end. Having a 500mm lens comes in handy. That said, they are often pretty seriously cropped. (I love the D810 with 36mp, it captures all the detail, and I can crop the heck out of the shot and still have a big shot to print. I shot most of the stuff I've posted lately with my D600, its still plenty capable.)

This is a cool video of the Texas Flying Legends at Reno. It looks like they were having a lot of fun. Hopefully they will come back again.
