Planning to post non-racing Warbird photos from this year's National Championship Air Races here. If you want to see the really good stuff from someone who puts in the time and effort, you owe it to yourself to see Blackbirdfan's posts on the Air Racing Forum - Wow!

*Edit* - never mind; they're copied in this thread now

Starting with the Unlimited Pits, which also included the Texas Flying Legends aircraft; not all of these raced:

Kevin Eldridge flew the TAM P-38 in a Heritage flight on Thursday and Sunday. The A-10 flew solo on Friday & Saturday while the '38 had the left prop spinner removed - pitch issues, maybe?

Can't say enough about the show that TFL put on - they flew shows at least Thursday (when I got there) thru Sunday , the last two days with pyro. This is in addition to making up most of the Unlimited Bronze class:

After the first pass, Warren Pietsch pulled up for some solo runs (two views)

Then Casey Odegaard made some hot runs in the B-25:

Then they all beat up the field, fighters mostly in pairs and the TBM solo:

Love it! I like seeing west coast stuff, I don't see most of these planes in person in the midwest.

If you mean the one with yellow wings, it is N700RW with Lone Star.

Not sure about ownership for the TFL birds - the overall glossy blue one did not fly with them at OSH 2016:

P-40 and FM-2 are in different paint, if not different planes altogether.

Nice shots, Blackbirdfan - can't wait for the rest!

What follows is a study in the constant radius approach - Casey in the B-25 kept it in very tight. The others tended to stretch it out further, probably to allow the runway to clear. No apology for the number of photos - like I say, it's a dump:

Thanks for all the terrific photos! (Will, you could produce a Warbird calendar with yours!) :drink3:

The Texas Flying Legends fleet is very large, and they never operate all of their aircraft from show to show. TFL owns/operates two P-40's, an E and a K - the one in your photo from Oshkosh is TFL's K, and the one that raced at Reno is TFL's E. TFL also owns/operates two different P-51D's (and soon a C). The Wildcat at Reno this year was the CAF bird, not the TFL Wildcat. The all-blue TMB is indeed owned by TFL, and has been for some years now (it was previously owned/operated by the late Danny Summers). The "Duchess of Dakota" C-53 in the first pic is also owned/operated by TFL. According to Instagram posts, the target-tow schemed "yellow-winged" TBM was brought to Reno by the Sanders Aeronautics guys.
