I am looking for pictures from the time period in red.

There have been a couple of previous threads on this plane; http://warbirdinformationexchange.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=519788
and in that thread there's a link to; http://warbirdinformationexchange.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=51886
But all of the pictures in both threads are gone now. :(

I have a B&W from the web.
All I have otherwise are two animations;

and a simulation;

Anybody have any real pictures, or links to further information?

Thanks Mark...I was just about to re-post that pic. (I originally posted to WIX 2-6-2012)

N63382 at Paul Mantz's place at SNA Aug 1957.

That's P-51C N1204 under canvas at left.

Thanks guys, but I'm looking for the paint job before the Paul Mantz version.

This is the one that I had, which was a Vought promotional photo ;

And I found these two small B&W pictures while preparing this thread, but I'm hoping somewhere there is a color picture. :|

... apparently there are no known actual color photos of that airplane before Mantz...if there was one, it might look something like this... (photoshop experiment)

Thanks for that rendering Sledge..that's pretty awsome!

Sorry Lon, I contacted one of the Chance Vought historians, he's in his 90's and I check on him now and then. I asked him about the color pics and he didn't even have one in his collection! Tho he says,"somebody certainly has to!" No Joy! (He is currently looking for a P-51 cockpit mock-up for a Pathfinder display at a museum in Georgia...IIRC)

Wow! Thanks for thinking about my thread and going to the real resource looking for me! :drink3:

It would also be great to see any other pictures he might have of the Corsair, if you get a chance again. :wink:
