Thank you all for not devolving into the mess that was on the WIX Facebook site. Cooler heads prevail here thankfully.

Miss Velma was restored in Chino as I recall. Maybe she'll be back?

The project began as a new-build airframe/parts plane from Odegaard Aviation (including the complete wing), that made its way to Square One Aviation at Chino in the early 2000's for conversion to TF-51D configuration. When Square One dissolved, TFC acquired the project/parts-sections and had them transferred to Fighter Rebuilders for completion (between 2005-2007). Some of the work/parts were done by Aero Trader and Matt Nightingale.

Some good footage posted by Stephen Keeler filmed from the airfield, from the taxi out, the balbo, and then the forced landing: -

I've done a bit of pruning on that thread :axe:

I had been wondering the same thing myself about the canopy and this morning on the keypublishing.com page there is a video of landing in the form of stills and at the :33 second mark you see the canopy depart the aircraft after it appears the right wingtip either hits something or digs in and Miss Velma starts spinning to the right a little... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8dHKwkLNnI

I got air to air photos of her in June or so of 2007 from POF's P-40. Steve Hinton was flying
another P-51 as chase. Sorry I am unable to scan anything here.

Did a very short search and didn’t see this video posted. Mods can delete if it’s already out there.

Figured it had to be out there. My mistake was searching only for “Miss Velma” and not the pilot’s name or the location. My bad.
