Looks like it's time for TIGHAR's annual summer vacation:

My apologies, did I say vacation? What I really meant to say was "expedition."

Must be time to replenish the bank accounts!

So, who is the generous benefactor this time?

Quite.
Remember, the group still calls itself "historic aircraft recovery"...yet after about 30 years has never recovered an aircraft.

Years ago I believe they figured out there was more money in looking for a celebrity (whose fate will likely can never be 100% determined) by keeping the public interested by annually stating "We're so close, we can't give up now".

For a time I was banned from editing entries on Wikipedia for pointing out this fact. No joke.

If, seeing that this is the History channel, then might we conclude that Amelia was abducted by ancient astronauts?

Or maybe she and all her stuff are living in an old barn somewhere in Iowa. If so, Mike and Frank will eventually find her and offer her half what the stuff's worth (gotta leave some meat on the back end, dontcha know).
