With the completion of the restoration of the Memphis Belle just a year away @ the NMUSAF, I wonder if the museum will plan to have any B-17's fly in for this event. How about a photo op of the Belle and Shoo Shoo Baby together outside.

The director of the restoration facility of the NMUSAF stated that they have "2 guys that can paint nose art real good".

One will paint the left side; the other will paint the right side.

The plane will be on display next spring, May 17, 2018, the 75th anniversary of the crew’s 25th mission over Europe, according to NMUSAF museum curator, Jeff Duford.

The plane will be will be repainted and guns will be installed.

The interior will not be finished by the time of display and will be finished in situ.
