Yea, I read that the same way: Combat armor and non-combat aircraft - what were they thinking?

They also have announced on their FB page that their combat-vet FG-1D Corsair (previously owned by Ed Shipley years ago), which has been in the final stages of restoration at Ezell's, will be flying at their Pacific Theatre Day event on June 24th.

On the back cover of the latest Air Classics, they (FHC) state " FLYCOM " (?)

Perhaps the "combat" was added to avoid association with body armor /armored cars (the VIP type), and armored trucks. Don't forget Under Armor underwear.
As usual, in an attempt to be too correct they come up with an unwieldy name that won't be used by anyone.

BTW: Is there such thing as non-combat armor?
