Oxygen mask being worn by the pilot? I don't recall ever seeing anyone using one for low-level flights in a warbird.

Jim and Scooter use oxygen masks when flying aerobatics as the oxygen gives an additional safety measure for ensuring good air intake during maneuvers. Side benefit? They can really get good performance out of the planes on the way to/from airshows since they can take the birds up into their more natural habitat. :)

Not to mention I've heard of a psychological benift to using masks, giving the pilot an added layer of security and comfort.

Don't think they were alone wearing masks at Geneseo.

The date for 2017 is July 7,8,9. If you plan to stay in town make reservations now as the hotels book up very fast due to other events in town on the same weekend.
