it's a shame that others can't take the time to remember & give thanks for those who have sacrificed, or put their ass on the line. naturally all who have joined this A # 1 site have historical perspective. but we are a shrinking minority. my dad was a ww 2 infantry company commander. he's still kicking ( more like kicking my ass!!!
) at 89. the younger generation & many of ours who are baby boomers have become emotionally unattached when it comes to the meaning of significant holidays where we should celebrate, but also take a minute to reflect & give thanks. memorial day, labor day, july 4th, veteran's day are now nothing but an excuse for a 3 day picnic or a day off by the majority of the population. i'm not trying to wrap myself in the flag, or be judgemental & self righteous, i'm just trying to appeal to those who still care enough to keep the fire burning. also.... i do not mean to exclude any overseas wix members, you are as much keepers of the flame as us yanks. i thank you as well. best, tom
