I just wanted to reflect on all that has happened in this world, and yet stuck in my mind has always been the bitterness of the Pearl Harbor attack.

Being a Desert Storm verteran and a historian, I still look at that event as one of the worst things, besides 9/11 that has happened to the United States of America.

I want to personally thank all veterans, who survived that attack and thank them for just doing the job that they signed up to do. I also want to thank all the veterans of today and the future, for putting forth in what they believe in and protecting those beliefs which have carried down from our forefathers; the belief of Freedom.

Let us all remember and continue to educate and document events likw Pearl Harbor, so we will never forget those who died and honoring those who served with a simple thank you.

I am not sure how many people do this, but everytime I see a veteran, or recognize one from a liecense plate, or even a hat, I stop and talk to them for a moment, even if brief and tell them thank you and welcome home.

God Bless all those who have died and to those who servered proudly, to keep the flag waving in the wind of Freedom.

Well said Paul. Thank you and all Veterans for your service.

Was just going through some pics, and thought I would share this one of Tex Hill and Paul Tibbetts recently taken at one of our events. Just think about all the history between these two Heroes.

Good to see them both up and around...last I heard ol' Tex was having hip problems but still making appearances....have met them both (and more than once for Tex, have an autographed pic of him and the CAF P-40 crew chief on my wall of the two of them), one heckuva nice guy...may they be around a great number of years more...
And to all the vets...a big THANK YOU...

M

it's a shame that others can't take the time to remember & give thanks for those who have sacrificed, or put their ass on the line. naturally all who have joined this A # 1 site have historical perspective. but we are a shrinking minority. my dad was a ww 2 infantry company commander. he's still kicking ( more like kicking my ass!!! ) at 89. the younger generation & many of ours who are baby boomers have become emotionally unattached when it comes to the meaning of significant holidays where we should celebrate, but also take a minute to reflect & give thanks. memorial day, labor day, july 4th, veteran's day are now nothing but an excuse for a 3 day picnic or a day off by the majority of the population. i'm not trying to wrap myself in the flag, or be judgemental & self righteous, i'm just trying to appeal to those who still care enough to keep the fire burning. also.... i do not mean to exclude any overseas wix members, you are as much keepers of the flame as us yanks. i thank you as well. best, tom
