AT-6 S/N Database ??

Sun Jan 10, 2016 4:37 pm

Is there such a thing ???

I received a request from a contact in Dublin, Ireland who is writing an article about the 1948 Cleveland Air Races. In particular he is interested in an AT-6 flown in the races by an Irish subject by the name of Nancy Corrigan who came in 5th in the Women's AT-6 /SNJ race category. Her modified aircraft was NX 57799 and had the former USAAF S/N of 41-15915.

Does this A/C still exist ???

I know this is a shot in the dark but thought I would run it past the WIX'er community for any ideas on how to trace this particular AT-6.

Thanks,
JohnV

Geoff Goodall's North American Texan and Harvard list shows this info for that plane; not much to go on:
78-6213 AT-6A 41-15915
NX57799 Queen City Flying Service, Cincinnati OH .46/47
(Cleveland racer #83 The Weaker Six, pilot Jane Hlavacek, Wilmette IL: mod. single-seat racer)
N57799 rereg. .48
