Yes, they had an engine issue 100 miles out of Oshkosh and stopped there. Apparently Rod pledged to Connie to bring the A-20 next year and "whatever else they need for Warbirds in review" to make up for missing his appearance with it this year.

I saw pictures of the oil screens they pulled after landing in Ill. To say they were PACKED with aluminum is a complete understatement! They believe it likely ate a piston based on the screens and the description of the in-flight symptoms. Guess they'll find the cause when they tear the engine down. Bad part is it's a fairly rare, oddball R-2600 with 16 bolt cylinder bases. A later dash 2600 could be adapted but then it's not as authentic…

Good to hear Rod is planning to bring it next year. At the show nobody on the crew knew what the plan would be for next year.

Is there anywhere I can find a list of the Warbirds that attended Oshkosh 2016?

We had a great time at AirVenture!
Camped in Vintage with some friends...the only way to do it....even with the rain and heat.

The view from our tent...

Great photography, Zane! really wonderful stuff. That shot of the Mars should blown up big somewhere. It is an incredibly dramatic shot. The Mustang takeoff panned, the Spartan -- fine stuff.

It helps to have great airplanes and iffy weather. That Midwest light can be magical sometimes.
