First I have heard of a required vendor package to fly flights out of Oshkosh. Maybe it has something more to do with the FAA asking us not do make a habit of doing this type of activity?

Sorry, that post now seems more snarky than I intended. :(

And I really think that the ride flights, CAF or others, operate out of Fon du Lac or Appleton because the traffic at OSH is too complex and varying to be running timed fights.

No worries Lon, I actually checked into this and found out that they go to Fond Du Lac because they tend to sit forever on the ground and that eats up $$$ in a hurry. For the record, we have never charged anyone to run rides out of Oshkosh. I know we get a lot of grief sometimes, but I had to question it.

For those that plan to experience Oshkosh from a distance, LiveATC already has most of their feeds up for Airventure.

Not much to listen to yet, but at least you can preflight your connections.

Thanks BK.

Nice additions of Chuck Greenhill's J2F and the A-4 from WHF.

And just in case you're really into Chipmunks, several will be on review (with their owners) Monday morning to mark the 70th anniversary of the type.

Interesting news out of the Vintage camp:

A WWI encampment will be set up in the shade trees behind the Vintage Hangar including four operating antique aircraft. They'll be highlighted during "Vintage in Review" each morning at 11:00 am. Some 6:00 pm engine run-ups are planned as well.

Current plans also include five Spartan Executives attending.

Apparently Patrick M. and his merry minions at WOGM are packing for a road trip. Looks like a fun way for those young men & women to punch their ticket to the Big Dance.

Well, there are no C-87 left in one piece so that one is out. The Collings Foundation is somewhere else that week. Diamond Lil is not going to be there as she's coming to the end of extended maintenance in Dallas and won't be ready.

An "interesting" warbird for sure, but I guess because it just seems like a glorified T-6 Texan to me, it is hard for me to get too excited about it.

But I am really looking forward to next month. There will be a LOT of great warbird and vintage aircraft there..... The Mars, the A-20, jets, etc.

Keep posting what you hear!

:D

Good stuff. Looking forward to seeing the Prowler fly in and looking forward to seeing the USCG aircraft fly on Thursday. Hopefully the Connie Edwards HU-16 Albatross will fly that day too.

If you get any tentative arrival schedules for the military birds let us know...
