Looking at the picture of the Wildcat, has that suffered some damage? it looks as though the wing tip is bent outboard of the aileron

You are correct, that port wing tip looks a bit tweaked. Hmm, I don't know what happened but am glad it wasn't any worse.

That aircraft is interesting in that the sheet metal seams appear to have been filled. When I looked at it at Oshkosh, there were no visible seams in the fuselage. Is that typical for Bearcats, or is it unique to this one? I was thinking that it was possible that a little filler was added during a previous racing career.

When Blue Bird Av. (?) restored her, she was mainly gry. primer with parts of her painted drk. Blue, maybe just a heavy coat under the B.A Blue ? pop2
