Is pretty easy to confirm as all of the exemption letter applications/renewals are public knowledge, and easy to find online if you know where/how to look.

Liberty Foundation renewal in late 2014/early 2015 was denied, so they now would have to appeal that decision. Not sure what that process is, but every submission seems to come with a 120 day response window from the FAA, so nothing is fast.

Thanks for confirming, Ken.

I think we should all take a step back and recognize that there may be Zero validity to the statement made in the original post. How many times have you gone to a museum and had a volunteer give you bad information about what is going on a museum? This may very well be the case here.

I will say that when I was buying the Invader from the Tallichet family, one of the gentlemen that worked for Tallichet expressed to me that he felt like the B-17 was being run hard and put away wet, so to speak, and that financially it wasn't benefiting them. That was his opinion of course, but if that sentiment is being carried up the chain who knows who might be listening and taking it as fact.

The Liberty Foundation does not have ANY tour dates on their website for the "Movie Memphis Belle" and the only appearance I've seen listed elsewhere is at Thunder over Michigan. http://www.libertyfoundation.org/schedule.html
One of the Facebook groups I am part of showed someone repairing/rebuilding a turbo for the MMB. Has anyone seen this B-17 out and about this year?

It's also been announced (on facebook) as being at the Wings Over North Georgia event October 3 and 4.
