FAG H-19 Folks:

Good Day!

Found deep in the archives an interesting pic of a FAG H-19s c.1970s. The scheme is poss grey with the FAG Reg 110. It later appears (2014-15) with a dark blue scheme indicating some painting/refurbishing done along the way.

We suspect this sample to be a former FAH 820 that somehow migrated to the FAG inventory in late 60s. Poss S/n 51-3927. Photo via FAH Museum Forum.

Nice view of an early Hiller...notice the cyclic controls going through the top of the cabin. This one appears to be without the leather/vinyl boot to help keep water off the pilot.

Also, a nice shot of a H-19B.
Also for those of us not up on South American forces...FAG and FAH are from what country?

They are quickly removable, thin framed plexiglass.
Usually not fitted in hot weather. With a large "greenhouse" it could get very warm in the cabin, I know from personal experience flying a Bell 47/H-13E.
I would assume they were standard equipment on the civil Hiller...but they could have been an extra cost option.

BTW: The UH-12 designation is the civil Hiller model number and not a U.S. Military assigned designation like the H-19 or H-13 (Bell 47).
The U.S. Army designation for the UH-12 was the H-23.

The Hiller, was an early production model of the Hiller 360, construction number 127. It was delivered to Guatemala in October 1949, but lost in a crash in December of that year.
