Chuck ask for some photos of the aces who flew with VMF-214 Swashbuckler so here's a start.

Capt Jim Hernan Jr. flew with VMF-214 Swashbucklers for 2 combat tours and VMF-215 Fighting Corsairs for a third scoring 8 kills.
During the Korean War he was KIA flying F4U-5N Bu No 124530 with VMF(N)-513 on July 19, 1951. Capt Hernan rests in the Calvary Hill Cemetery, Dallas, TX.
