Very exciting that this plane is being saved and will...hopefully...fly again. I rank this project up there with the DOC effort as far as level of importance...at least in my book.

The first post-restoration flight of Columbine II is scheduled for Saturday March 19. If everything is OK then the ferry flight to Virgina will begin on Monday March 21. http://www.conniesurvivors.com/1-connie_news.htm#MAR16

After reading the article, it sounds like they bought two Connies, Columbine II that is flying back and another that is to be trucked back? What is the story on the one being trucked out? Is it a spart parts bird or will it also be restored to flight status if possible?

Google Earth (Avra Valley Airport) shows another Connie near the Columbine II.

And somebody there has a bunch of Scooters!

Yes I've looked on google earth before. I was more wondering what the future for the unnamed Connie is. It would be really great if they plan to make that one airworthy as well.

AOK, I linked a video of the take off on the WIX FB page. Unfortunately, it's embedded so you can't post it here.

The second Connies is not the one retrieved from Carribean by a swiss team, before discovering the plane was not suitable for a normal registration with passengers in Europe ? Just wondering
