I'm not sure where this is, whether still in Europe or in the US somewhere. Any ideas?

There appear to be repaired bomb craters across the airfield, so I would say that's Europe.

The really interesting thing about the P 47E in the first series is the propeller. That is a Hydromatic propeller operated with engine oil as opposed to the standard Curtiss Electric propeller usually used during that era. Most surviving Thunderbolts use the Hydromatic type now since they are easier to service and overhaul. The key thing about the installation is that it takes a different version of the usual R-2800 engine with a different crankshaft.

What do you think? I posted the 1024 x 796 versions.
While we're at it, let's try tweaking the brightness and contrast on the B-25 a little:

Any better? (Now I feel like I'm giving an eye exam. )

You have any shots of Privateers that were stationed at Corpus Cristi? Late 40's early 50's?
