I'm with marine air - that's a real time capsule, and it somehow looks great considering it would count as a derelict. I hope the restoration does come to fruition, I bet a Skyraider would be welcome on the SA scene.

The Skyraider was moved to Brakpan Airfield (FABB) about a year ago and is apparently undergoing restoration.
I have not heard much about it since then .. although second hand information that I heard, was that the suspected underbelly corrosion (at some point in its life it was stored outside on its belly) was not too bad.

I will be updating with some developments with regard this Skyraider in the next couple of days. Just posted this marker so that I dont have to search for this thread again.

The very long process of getting this Skyraider back in the air has started :D
Since August last year, two full time engineers have been assigned to the project..and work is progressing.
It will be a ground up restoration .. and the owner understands it very probably does not make economic sense .. but he is passionately committed to it anyway
I will post several pics ... some I took on the 17 Nov last year ... and more recently 16 June 2018
