Hi Michel,

The wreckage in your photo is of the first restoration, G-MKIV (corrected) which was destroyed in the Denham crash in 1987, only weeks after it first flew. Only a couple of parts from that went into the next one, G-BPIV (corrected), which first flew in 1993 and was damaged at Duxford in 2003. It's the repair from that landing accident and conversion to short nose that has occuppied the last ten years.

In short there have been two airworthy Blenhiems, the first destroyed in 1987 (your photo) and the second damaged in 2003 and now flying again.

Pretty sure you've got the registrations mixed up :)

G-MKIV (ex-RCAF 10038) crashed in 1987, and G-BPIV (ex-RCAF 10201) was damaged in '03.

Thanks RCAF, you're quite right. Current flier is G-BPIV, the Denham wreck was G-MKIV.
