Should be interesting to have a Thunder Over Michigan show in late August for the first time.

Looking forward to hearing what you have in store for next year, Michael! Can't wait to hear what the theme will be and some of the potential warbirds that may be attending.

The reason for the dates is obvious, and Michael posted the link to the show's web site which shows the Blue Angels are planned for next year. It was announced almost 2 months ago during the weekend of this year's show.

As much as many of us hard core warbird fans do not go to a show like Thunder Over Michigan to see teams like the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds, it is greatly acknowledged that teams like this will increase the attendance at the show and revenue for the Yankee Air Museum, and will hopefully allow a greater variety and number of vintage warbirds to attend the show.

Yeah, the Blues are coming to Thunder next year. Mostly likely we will see a naval theme for next year show.

An appropriate theme for the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII. I've got it on my calendar!

Nice theme. Speaking of bombers...are flyby's a thing of the past?

Reconstruction of the bomber plant should be well underway by end of August.

I LOVE IT!

It would be awesome to see a formation of Witchcraft, Diamond Lil and the Privateer.

I wonder if Doc will be flying by then..she and Fifi would make a nice formation...

GREAT theme, Michael!

Would love to see 2 B-29's, 2 B-24's, 1 PB4Y-2 Privateer, 6 to 9 B-17's, 7 to 10 B-25's, and 3 to 5 A-26's to represent a great lineup of WWII era "bombers" to mark the 70th Anniversary of the end of WWII.

Would be great to see participation by the Air Force's B-52, B-1 and B-2 fleet also, but that may be asking too much.

:D

Add a Lancaster and mossy in there and some TBM's and SBD's and you will have a great line up.

A themed aircraft with a single airframe....HMMMM? Could there be some exciting, big news forthcoming?

Cheers,

Jeff

A GREAT aircraft type for a theme aircraft and right in line with the overall "Bombertown USA theme. Probably the first time ever for a theme aircraft type that will be represented by at most two airplanes.

Keep your fingers crossed that both Fifi and Doc will be coming to the show! And I have no doubt that Michael and Kevin will come up with a great cross section of other bomber types to go with a varied warbird lineup.
