Well, I certainly opened up more than I had reckoned here. I was unaware that the Martin was used on Lancasters and made my initial comment from memory, having read somewhere that the Fraser Nash was considered correct but none could be found and the Martin was installed.

I thank you all for the enlightenment.

cheers, :drink3:

edit: Taigh Ramey, nothing wrong with being picky as I'm often accused of the same in another forum. I strive for accuracy in what I post and well, I kind of slipped a wee bit on this one. I should have known better than to post something without proper research with you lot. (and I mean that as a compliment to the membership here) :D

Nonetheless, with reference to the post I had replied to, the turrets are still a somewhat major difference between FM-213 and PA-474. :)

Per Elliott Marsh - GAR's excellent features. Thought this (6) Lancasters in a day visit was pretty neat.

Announced yesterday that Vera's last public appearance with BBMF should be a real buzz for Vera's crew....

Following in the tracks of the Dambusters and they will be doing a 2 x Lanc run over Derwent Dam, on their back from Southport Airshow on Sun afternoon.
Derwent Dam was used by 617 Sqn for training for the Dams raid.

Did they ever both flyover Just Jane while she had her engines running? I thought that was in the cards, but haven't seen anything about it?

It was a fun trip. I'm pretty sure that Huw and I were the first people in half a century to see five (and a bit!) Lancasters in one day.

Really nice video there. All that is missing is some footage of both Lancs from a third aircraft!

Not footage yet, but nice stills taken from a RAF Puma helo and lovely story of CWH taking an ex-RAF Lanc Flight Eng (and current BBMF volunteer) for a ride over the dams.
