this series of pics has the dc-7's from the ortner air service here in wakeman ohio stuffed to the gills w/ junk, the Grumman avenger, the skyraider that had a fatality on lake st clair, 1/2 of the twin mustang now being restored. the yellow & blue fuselage / wing piece is a from a blue angels (a-4 Skyhawk??) that crashed during a Cleveland international air show.

I'm late to the game so don't beat me up. Is this stuff all gone now or is some of it still remaining on the property (I assume some is)? What does the future hold for anything that remains i.e. the B-36 fuselage? Just curious. Thanks.

From what I understand most of it is still on the property, aside from the few planes that were sold prior to Mr. Soplata's passing. (Wild Cargo, XP-82, etc)

EDIT: Sorry about the typo, good catch Tom.

correct. being 1 hour from their, i'm in the blind as much as everyone else & my pics are 11 years old. while not being privy to walt's estate, my best friend was considered by him to be executor, hence my once in a lifetime opportunity to see THE ENTIRE PLACE AS YOU WILL SEE thanks to wix member cherrybomber 13. my buddy was requested by walt to survey his howard w/ the certificate for sale or trade.

As of right now the family has no plans on doing anything with the collection. The only planes that have left the collection are the ones we already know about. Right now I'm not at liberty to discuss any details regarding the aircraft. When the opportunity arises or I'm given permission to reveal more, I most certainly will. What I can say is that people will be pleasantly surprised as to what is there!

Oh man, everytime I see photos there is something that I could use for our F-84F. In that pile of rubble of F-84 parts there are most likely pieces we could put to good use.

I would also like to acquire the nose of The City of El Paso (B-52B) and bring it back to this part of the country.

Goodall lists 2 TBM-3Ns on on Soplata's property. No Bu numbers listed for either.
Are there 2 Turkeys there?

no clue as to disposition, but my buddy said corrosion was very severe. when drew starts posting more of the pics, he'll post the aircraft's original certificate. an excellent pic of it.
