Platinum Fighters web site lists them as selling Jim Merizan's mossie PZ474 and the faa web site lists it as exported to New Zealand. Anyone know more?

Merizan had in outdoor storage at Chino Airport Mosquito two matching engines/nacelles and a very rough skeleton of a wing and partial landing gear. I've seen them with my own eyes (as have others). I don't know these Mosquito parts' identity, but another source indicated to me recently that this pile had been recently sold. So perhaps this collection is PZ474. As for other Mossie parts at Chino, I don't know of any.

The Registry mentions he also has some remains of TA717/XB-TOX:

Is PZ474 the Fate is the Hunter Mosquito?

Yes, seen in the background of the "Burma" scenes along with T-6, Fairchild 24, B-25, A-26...filmed at Pacoima in early 64.

It'll be interesting to find out the story behind this - if it's true, it'll be nice to have her back in New Zealand.

This is about all you see of it, at least in the fullscreen version that's on YouTube (widescreen letterbox would be much better):

Haven't looked lately for the wings and nacelles, but I do recall seeing parts of a dilapidated fuselage many years ago in a hangar. To my knowledge it was never stored outside at Chino

Thanks for those shots.
There really is quite a bit there to work with.
The prospect of seeing as many as four more Mosquitos rebuilt is very exciting.

I wonder what is the structural state of the Kermit Weeks's one. I know the plane is stored in good condition in the EAA museum, but will it be possibile to put her airworthy without major restoration ?

Is it possible to assess the wood structure without completly taking it appart ?

That is what they did with the one that is waiting to fly, they x rayed the airframe, it is a original airframe, not a new build like the Fighter Factory's.

Entrusting your life to 70+ year old wood just seems kind of dangerous to me. But then again if anyone offered me a ride in a PT-26 I'd jump at the offer.

The photos at Chino seem to match images I've seen online of PZ474/ZK-BCV/N9909F; couple real nice color shots of it in happier days on this thread:
