Hello Folks

I have just come across a cache of USAAF dump finds, located on a former Air Depot used by the USAAF. I was wondering if anyone can help identify these parts, there seems to be the remains of a manifold, unsure as to what make of radial engine it came from, also an access hatch cover, the exterior has remnants of neutral grey paint in place, the interior, the remnants of green zinc chromate, with some stenciling in place, which is barely legible unfortunately. There is a Schraeder valve, made in the USA, also what appears to be the remains of a window frame, with glazing in place in one of the corners. A few airframe parts with varying shades of zinc chromate, two nice B-10 Bomb Racks, and what appears to be a radiator grill possibly? would be great to know if from an aircraft and what type.

Many thanks guys, will have more to come soon.

It appears you've uncovered the bits and bones of a weary and forgotten Boeing B-17. The wing access cover and a couple of other little bits are Flying Fortress remains. Keep digging and posting! There are those of us who are rather keen on these types of finds.

The schrader valve is actually a shop tool for blowing compressed air rather than an aircraft part. They usually have a button that actuates the valve though some also used a lever to actuate the button. Schrader did make valves for aircraft use usually for servicing nitrogen in landing gear struts or hydraulic pneumatic systems.
