Hi all, just a heads up that I have updated the H-19 Chickasaw registry and have added several new entries. These updates led me down a rabbit hole filled with H-19s with N-numbers and I will be adding them as time permits.

Scott,

Give me a few days and I'll give you everything I have on surviving HRS, HO4S, and perhaps a few H-19 aircraft. I can tell you that, unfortunately, the aircraft on display at the NMMC at Quantico is neither 127828 nor 127834. It is, in fact, former HO4S, Bureau Number 138508. It's hard to say but, it appears there may have been some intentional deception on the part of the seller of that aircraft to the NMMC back in the early eighties.

There are two HO4S-3 at Shearwater.
55885 inside and 55891 in storage.

55885 show here and 55891 were purchased from Sikorsky in 1955 for the Royal Canadian Navy.
The flew from Shearwater Naval Air Station and on the aircraft carriers HMCS Magnificent and HMCS Bonaventure. In May 1970 they flew to Borden, Ontario to be ground training aids. 891 came back to Shearwater a few years later as a gate guardian, out in the salt air. When a museum was built 885 was brought back to be the museum example. 891 went to the local trade school for some years and is now back on the airbase.
